What a week! We ran errands, went grocery-shopping, (went shoe-shopping), got the oil changed, totally made-over our front yard, and shot a commercial! Whew!

A few weeks ago, our local Credit Union asked if the girls and I would be interested in being in their new branding commercial. We were very excited, and agreed to give it our best. (I was totally praying that we wouldn’t be a complete disaster!) The girls did amazing, I actually remembered my lines, and I think that they were pretty pleased with the results. To our surprise and delight, the bank called us again, and asked if we would be willing to film another commercial for them, as they had received a wonderful response from the first one. I was a little nervous, because this time I actually had several paragraphs to say, but we shot the commercial Monday, and it went fantastic! It was a fun experience, and I am super-thankful to have been a part of it.

We combined our oil-change trip with a little shopping. (good time management, combining trips, etc…I can justify just about anything!) Our local Dillard’s has an outlet store, and although I had heard many great reports, had never actually visited there myself. It was great! I found my Easter shoes (originally $80-got them for $12.50!), got Jamie a shirt for $7, and the girls had a blast trying on shoes with me. Success.

Do any of you love makeovers? Ok, then this is for you! Our poor little yard has looked pretty much the same since the day we moved in, almost four years ago. I know the names of lots of plants, but neither the hubby nor myself know anything about actually keeping them alive. Since we will be having a family Easter Egg Hunt at our home on Sunday, Jamie and I decided that it was time to finally call in the professionals (my mom and dad), and make our home a little more aesthetically pleasing.

This is what we started with… (lots and lots of clover!)

Ellie took a break from her hard labor to help Papa drive the truck.

Are you ready?? Here is the finished product!! Yay!

We worked diligently Friday and Saturday, and I have to admit, I’m beyond thrilled with our results! Our house looks more inviting and welcoming, and looks so much more full of life and personality! (It also looks much cleaner and neater!) Sigh. I’m happy. (And very blessed.)
Meals were a little sporadic, as we had commitments much of the week. These were hurriedly assembled one night, and ended up being a big hit.
We just layered whole-grain bread slices, large, ripe Heirloom tomatoes, cooked turkey bacon, and a little Provolone cheese, and stuck them under the broiler for a few minutes.  Cozy and tasty. Yum!
This (along with some scrambled eggs) ended up being our breakfast one morning. It is a Whole Wheat Banana Bread Snack Cake from How Sweet It Is. I have made it several times, and everyone loves it. It is moist and dense, not too sweet, and kind of lets you get away with cake for breakfast. (smile)
Hope you all have a great week!

they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
